Bem-vindos! Bienvenuto! Bienvenue! Bienvenidos! Wilkommen! ようこそ!
Welcome to Memoirs of a Distant Moonlight! My name (or, at least, the name I go by) is Phillip Kendrick; I'm an eighteen-year-old college student and I shall be your regular (and only) poster over here (seeing it's kind of my blog to start with. ;P)
Yeah. I've been delaying posting more stuff over here seeing I'm terrible with introductions... but, heck, it's the very first post, so I think I should be a bit egotistical (*SHOT*) and talk about the author. So yeah, bare with me, please... or just skip to the next post. That's where you'll find what really matters. |D
As you can probably assume, I'm a teenager who absolutely, positively loves writing. Most likely, the contents of this blog will reflect that love; I intend to periodically (but randomly) update with small pieces I come up with. I'm not a picky individual; I'll most likely write about whatever theme or topic -- I've written a couple original works as well as several fanfics of stories and series I'm fond of, but am also quite capable of posting a couple of poems or emotional texts in a whim (the latter will most likely be the most common type of text I'll dump here, knowing me...). Whenever I update one of my stories via deviantArt or fanfiction.net, I'll most likely update it here as well - so, to all effects, this place should hold a directory for everything I write and publish online.
Writing is not my only passion, however. I'm also terribly fond of music - most specifically, Soundtracks and J-Pop - and several fields related to it. I'm fond of both listening to it (as I always do when I'm writing something) as well as interpreting it (via my acoustic piano). In some of my free time I find myself composing a couple of tunes, and sometimes even transcribing them to MIDI format. I'm still a novice at it, however, so you most likely won't get to see these kinds of works anytime soon. ;P One thing you might see, however, are lyrics I sometimes come up with. Sometimes, when a song really appeals to me (regardless on whether it had lyrics or not in the first place), I can't resist writing my own.
Another thing I'm fond of is anime and manga series, as well as the Japanese pop culture in general (you probably saw that coming when you looked at both my profile picture and when I stated 'J-Pop'). If I have some free-time, I'm probably spending it by either watching or reading one of those. I'm also a part-time lurker at Nico Nico Douga (as well as Youtube, but that's more 'common' ^^; ) as well as some image gallery websites such as Pixiv or Zero-chan.
To finish the full geek picture; I'm also fond of video games of any and all kinds (although I tend to prefer RPGs in general). I wouldn't say I'm a hardcore gamer, but am quite the casual one; if I have nothing to do, you'll probably find me grabbed to a controller and playing some game... or developing my own. Yup. I have a weak spot for creating stuff in general, and games is no exception -- there's a reason I'm majoring in Programming. ;D (although I probably should have started with that information...). Games where I can design my own character/stage/vehicle/campaign tend to be my favourites as a consequence.
As a first introduction, I think this'll do. There's much more to me, of course, but I think my texts will reflect that better than any introduction ever will. So I'll leave this here as a preface of sorts, and hope you all enjoy what the blog has to offer!
